A lack of P wave proceeding QRS complexes suggests a lack of heartbeat. This usually occurs due to some sinus dysfunction or in presence of atrial fibrillation or flutter waves. P wave shows the electrical depolarization or contraction of the heart’s upper chamber muscles. The Absence of P waves can create abnormalities in morphology. It’s very important to understand the normal and abnormal P wave as a complete lack of P wave may result in sinus arrest.
