Understanding Spandan 4.0

Spandan 4.0 is a point-of-care medical device designed to capture single-channel 12-lead ECG data. It works in conjunction with an Android mobile application, which serves as the interface for capturing, displaying, and managing your ECG data. The device connects to your smartphone via a micro-USB cable, allowing for seamless data transfer and real-time monitoring.

Preparing for Your ECG

Before you begin, ensure you have the following

  2. Android smartphone with the Spandan ECG app installed
  3. Micro-USB cable
  4. Chest electrodes and leads
  5. Alcohol prep pads or gauze with benzoin tincture (optional)

Choose a quiet, comfortable location with a stable temperature. It’s best to be relaxed and seated upright with your back straight during the test.

Step-by-Step Guide to Taking an ECG

    • Place the Red chest lead on your right shoulder.
    • Place the Green chest lead on your left shoulder.
    • Position the Yellow chest lead as shown in the app’s guidance.

    • After reaching Lead II, switch the position of the Green chest lead with the Yellow chest lead.
    • The app will guide you through each step, ensuring proper lead placement.
  8. Stay Still and Record:
    • Remain relaxed and still during the recording process.
    • The app will indicate when the recording is complete.
  9. Generate and Share Your Report:
    • Once the test is finished, the app will generate a report.
    • You can share this report with your healthcare provider via WhatsApp, email, or other digital platforms.
