Spandan to the rescue of kedarnath yatra pilgrims
The Kedarnath Yatra in 2022 received as many pilgrims who visited the temple in 2019 in just three months. But the Number of Deaths has been Unprecedented as Well In a daring response to the heart health crisis faced by pilgrims during the Kedarnath Yatra, Sunfox Technologies, and the Uttarakhand Government set out to make a substantial impact. The rising fatalities due to cardiac events in the treacherous terrains of Kedarnath posed a formidable challenge that demanded an innovative solution.
What We Did
A Pivotal Screening Camp equipped with Spandan ECG technology was strategically established at Sonprayag, the yatra’s outset. This camp was a cornerstone in providing immediate cardiac care to pilgrims.
Leveraging the power of community, local volunteers were meticulously trained in using the Spandan ECG, a marvel of medical technology capable of functioning seamlessly without internet connectivity.
The abnormal reports were shared over WhatsApp with a cardiologist stationed in Dehradun. People who were found to have abnormal ECG readings were Referred to a Local Physician and advised against continuing the trek on foot.
The people were also Informed about the Signs and Symptoms of a Heart Attack, so they could seek early care in case they developed symptoms later.
